This occurs when the onboard microprocessor detects a mismatch between the motor's current state and the command signal, often triggered by a sudden voltage spike, a power surge, or a complete loss of power while the unit was in a standby state. Essentially, the control board has entered a safety lockout mode to prevent the motor from spinning unexpectedly or overheating. You can confirm this is a logic error rather than a mechanical failure if the lights flash in a rhythmic, synchronized pattern across all speed settings and the beeps are consistent. If the blender was working fine and suddenly entered this state without a heavy load (like frozen fruit or ice) causing the motor to stall, it is almost certainly a firmware glitch rather than a blown fuse or a burnt-out motor capacitor. This state prevents any button presses from registering until the internal memory is cleared and the system re-initializes.
How to Fix It
To clear the logic lock and reset the control board, follow this precise sequence to force a hard reboot of the system:
- Disconnect the power cord directly from the wall outlet. Do not simply flip a switch on a power strip; the unit must be completely devoid of current.
- Wait exactly 60 to 90 seconds. This allows the capacitors on the main PCB (Printed Circuit Board) to fully discharge, wiping the temporary error state from the volatile memory.
- While the unit is still unplugged, ensure the blender jar is firmly locked into the base. If the safety interlock switch is not engaged, the reset may fail.
