Diagnosis

You can confirm this is the issue if you notice "milky" or cloudy water during the first few gallons of use; this cloudiness is actually millions of microscopic air bubbles rapidly escaping the water. If the noise is accompanied by a sudden drop in pressure or a "hammering" sensation in the pipes, you likely have a more significant airlock preventing a steady stream of water from entering the filter media.

How to Fix It

To properly purge the system and eliminate the gurgling noise, follow this specific sequence to ensure all trapped air is displaced from the UC-200 housing:

1. Turn off the cold water supply valve under the sink to reset the pressure.
2. Slowly open the cold water faucet on your sink completely. Leave it open.
3. Slowly turn the cold water supply valve back on, opening it only about 25% of the way. Introducing water slowly prevents a massive air surge that can cause "water hammer" and creates a more consistent push to move air bubbles toward the faucet.
