Some warmth is normal, but excessive heat is a sign of a problem. First, make sure you're giving it a proper place to charge.
- Place the charger on a hard, flat surface. Never place it on a soft surface like a bed or couch, or put any object on top of it. This blocks the ventilation slots and traps heat.
- Keep the charger away from any heat source, like a furnace vent or in direct sunlight.
- Ensure the battery pack is fully seated in the charger. Never force it in.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: The charger has a hot/cold delay feature. If the battery is outside its ideal temperature range, the charger will delay charging until it's within a safe range. If it's hot to the touch or swelling, stop immediately. Under abusive conditions, liquid can be ejected from the battery, causing irritation or burns. If this happens, flush with water and seek medical help if it contacts eyes.
