my heater just stopped working, no lights, no fan, nothing. checked the outlet and it's fine.

Quick answer: A total loss of power with a known-good outlet points to an internal failure. On the UberHeat, the first place to look is the thermal fuse (a safety cutoff) or the main power switch/thermostat assembly.

Diagnosis

A total loss of power with a known-good outlet points to an internal failure. On the UberHeat, the first place to look is the thermal fuse (a safety cutoff) or the main power switch/thermostat assembly.

How to Fix It

1) Unplug the heater. 2) Flip it over and remove the four screws on the bottom to open the case. 3) Visually inspect for any obvious signs of burning, melted wires, or a blown fuse (the small rectangular fuse on the heater bracket). 4) If you have a multimeter, check for continuity through the power cord first, then through the rocker power switch on the side of the unit. If the switch is faulty, it won’t complete the circuit. 5) The thermal fuse is the next likely culprit. Test it for continuity. If it’s blown, you’ll need to replace it with an identical part.

If That Didn't Work

If the cord, switch, and fuse all test fine, the issue could be in the wiring harness or a connection that’s come loose internally. Go over every wire connection, especially the spade connectors on the thermostat and the element, and make sure they are snug and not corroded.

Heads Up

When working inside the heater, take a picture of the wiring before you disconnect anything. It’s easy to forget where each color-coded wire goes, and hooking them up wrong can cause a serious hazard when you plug it in.
