Excessive vibration means the LowVib anti-vibration system is compromised. Check the mounting points.
- Inspect the rubber vibration dampeners that isolate the engine/handle assembly from the saw body. Look for cracks, tears, or deterioration.
- Check that all bolts connecting the handles and the engine housing are tight. A loose bolt can transfer vibration directly.
- Ensure the chain is correctly tensioned and the bar nuts are tight. A loose chain or bar can cause imbalance.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: The clutch or flywheel could be unbalanced due to damage or debris buildup. The drive sprocket may also be worn unevenly. Internal engine issues like a failing bearing will also create severe vibration but are less common.
HEADS UP: Prolonged use with high vibration increases fatigue and risk of injury. Have the dampeners and internal components inspected by a technician if basic checks don't solve it.
