To confirm this is the issue, check if the unit refuses to start even after pressing the power button; if the beeps recur immediately upon powering on, the safety switch is not being engaged by the filter's physical presence.
How to Fix It
To resolve the filter installation error and clear the red flashing light, follow these precise steps:
- Disconnect the power cable from the wall outlet to ensure the unit is completely powered down and the capacitors are discharged.
- Turn the purifier upside down on a soft surface to access the bottom base.
- Twist the bottom cover counter-clockwise to unlock it and lift the cover off.
- Remove the cylindrical filter entirely. Inspect the filter for any remaining clear plastic wrapping. This is the most common cause of the error; the filter must be completely bare of all packaging before insertion.
- Inspect the interior of the base for any debris, dust clumps, or foreign objects that may be preventing the filter from sitting flush against the bottom.
- Reinsert the filter, ensuring it is seated perfectly flat. If your filter has alignment markers, ensure they are facing the correct direction. Press down firmly on the center of the filter to ensure it is fully seated in the housing.
- Replace the bottom cover and twist it clockwise until you feel a definitive click. The cover must be locked tight to engage the internal safety sensor.
- Plug the unit back in and press the Power button. The red light should now be off, and the fan should engage.
If That Didn't Work
- Reset the Filter Timer: If the light is still flashing, the unit may be confused by a timer mismatch. Press and hold the "Filter Reset" button (usually integrated with the power or fan speed button depending on the specific Core 300 sub-model) for a full 3 seconds until you hear a confirmation beep. If one of the locking lugs is snapped or bent, the cover may feel tight but not actually be depressing the internal limit switch. Use a small piece of electrical tape to create a thicker shim on the locking tab to ensure it pushes the switch down further.
- Hard Power Cycle: Unplug the unit and leave it disconnected for at least 10 minutes. This clears the volatile memory of the control board, which can sometimes resolve "ghost" errors where the sensor is triggered but the physical obstruction is gone.

- Always remove the plastic wrap from new filters. Installing a wrapped filter can cause permanent damage to the motor due to extreme vacuum pressure.
- Avoid using vacuum cleaners with high-suction brushes on the exterior of the filter; this can tear the HEPA fabric and cause the filter to collapse, triggering the installation error.
- Clean the exterior pre-filter every 2-4 weeks with a dry cloth to prevent dust buildup from putting undue strain on the motor.
