my lg portable ac lp1419ivsm just shows ch on the display and won't cool, what does that mean?

— asked by Jamie

DIAGNOSIS CH is a condensate overflow error. The internal drain bucket or the float switch is tripped.

FIX Unplug the unit. Move it to a location where you can drain water. Locate the lower drain plug on the back. Remove it and let all water drain out. Reinstall the plug firmly. Plug the unit back in. The CH code should clear.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The internal drain line or float switch may be blocked. Tip the unit slightly side-to-side to dislodge any debris. If CH persists, the float switch itself may be faulty.

HEADS UP This often happens on very humid days or if the unit hasn't been level. Ensure the unit is sitting flat on the floor.
