DIAGNOSIS The saw triggered its electronic protection. The blinking battery indicator is a thermal warning. The motor or electronics overheated.
FIX Stop using the saw immediately. Remove the battery. Let the saw and battery cool down for at least 30 minutes in a shaded area. Check the air vents on the saw body for sawdust blockage and clean them. Use a fully charged, genuine Makita LXT battery for the next cut.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The problem could be a failing battery cell. Try a different, known-good Makita LXT battery. If the new battery works fine, the original battery is defective and needs replacement.
HEADS UP Do not force cuts or use a dull blade. This overloads the motor and causes overheating. A sharp blade and steady feed rate prevent this.
