my yamaha yas-209 subwoofer just stopped making sound, the light on it is solid but no bass at all

— asked by Riley

DIAGNOSIS The wireless link between the soundbar and subwoofer has dropped. The subwoofer is powered but not receiving audio signal.

FIX Re-pair the subwoofer. Unplug both the soundbar and subwoofer from power. Wait 30 seconds. Plug in the subwoofer first. Wait until its status light stops blinking and is solid. Then plug in the soundbar. It should automatically reconnect.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Check for physical obstructions. The wireless link uses 5GHz Wi-Fi. Large metal objects or other 5GHz devices nearby can block it. Move the subwoofer closer to the soundbar, at least temporarily.

HEADS UP Do not press any pairing buttons on the subwoofer unless directed by a specific reset procedure. Manual button presses can complicate the auto-reconnection.
