Diagnosis
The dispenser didn't detect the initial water flow through the new filter to start its timer. This is a common setup hiccup.
How to Fix It
Manually reset the filter indicator. Press and hold the 'Reset Filter' button on the front panel for 3-5 seconds until the light turns solid blue. It should recognize the new filter immediately.
If That Didn't Work
The filter might not be seated correctly. Remove it, check the O-ring for damage, re-insert it firmly until it clicks into the housing, then try the reset button again.
Heads Up
Always reset the indicator when you install a new filter. If you don't, it will keep flashing red even with a fresh one, as it's still counting down from the old filter's supposed lifespan.
