DIAGNOSIS It's normal for the Point to feel warm, especially the bottom half, but it shouldn't be uncomfortably hot. Excessive heat is usually from poor ventilation or a faulty unit.
FIX Ensure it's not in direct sunlight, on a heat source like a radiator, or crammed into an enclosed cabinet. Place it on a hard, flat surface with at least a few inches of clearance on all sides, especially the bottom.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If it's still excessively hot in a well-ventilated spot, it's likely a hardware fault. Unplug it for a few hours to cool completely, then plug it back in. If the severe heat returns quickly, contact support.
HEADS UP The Point combines a router/extender and a smart speaker, so it has more components generating heat than a simple puck. Warm is expected; searing hot is not.
