IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The brush roll motor or its sensor could be failing. Listen closely when you start a job—if you hear a faint whirring but the brush doesn't spin, the motor isn't engaging. That's a hardware fault requiring support. HEADS UP Cutting hair off the brush roll with scissors is fine, but never cut debris off the extractors or you might nick them. Use the included cleaning tool to hook and pull threads out.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If it still skips, there might be too much infrared interference in the room. Bright sunlight streaming in a window or another robot vacuum operating nearby can blind the sensor. Try running it at a different time of day or with blinds closed. HEADS UP The robot needs consistent lighting to map properly. If you ran the initial mapping at night with lamps on, and now you clean during the bright day, the different shadows can throw off its memory of the space.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If it's a specific low-hanging piece of furniture, you can try attaching small, adhesive furniture pads to the front bumper to act as a physical buffer, giving the sensor an earlier warning. This is a hack, but it works for some people. HEADS UP The robot isn't designed to climb objects higher than about 3/4 of an inch. IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The base's suction motor might be obstructed. Unplug the base, turn it over, and remove the five screws on the bottom cover. Carefully check the fan impeller for wrapped hair or debris. Be gentle. HEADS UP If you run the empty cycle without a bag installed, it will suck debris directly into the base's motor, which is a much bigger problem. Always ensure a bag is in place and sealed.
