First, check the torque setting collar. If it's set too low or on a drill symbol, it will clutch out before applying full force.
- Fix: Turn the collar near the chuck to the highest number or the driver symbol (often a screw icon) for maximum torque.
If the setting is correct: The electronic protection system may be engaging due to heat or a borderline battery.
- Remove the battery and let the drill cool for 10 minutes.
- Press the battery's charge indicator. A weak cell can show 'full' but not deliver power.
- Try a different, known-good ONE+ 18V Lithium+ battery.
- Ensure you're using the correct screwdriver bit that fits the screw head snugly. A worn or ill-fitting bit slips and wastes power.
When to call it: If it's still weak with a fresh battery on the highest torque setting, the motor or internal gears may be worn. The tool has a 3-year warranty if registered.
