the brew cycle starts but then stops after a few seconds, only a tiny bit of water drips through

DIAGNOSIS The water pump's inlet is clogged with scale or debris. The machine detects insufficient flow and shuts off as a safety measure.

FIX Unplug. Remove the water reservoir. Look into the machine at the water inlet port. Use a small pipe cleaner or soft brush to clear any visible debris. Then, run a full descaling cycle as described in the burnt taste fix. This can dissolve scale blocking the internal pump tube.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The small plastic water tube that runs from the reservoir port to the pump may be kinked or disconnected inside the machine. This requires disassembly to inspect and reroute or reconnect the tube.

HEADS UP Do not try to run the machine repeatedly with this symptom. The pump is struggling and the heating element can overheat without water flow, leading to a blown thermal fuse.
