DIAGNOSIS This is a color space mismatch. The PS5 outputs a wide color gamut signal (RGB Full), but the monitor may be set to a limited range (YCbCr) or the wrong picture mode.
FIX Adjust settings on both devices. On the PS5: Go to Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output > RGB Range. Set it to 'Automatic'. On the Samsung Monitor OSD: Press the joystick button. Navigate to Menu > Picture > Picture Mode. Set to 'Custom'. Then go to Menu > Picture > Color > Color Space. Set to 'Native'. Finally, ensure Game Mode is activated in the OSD's Game menu for proper HDR signal handling.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The issue may be specific to HDR. On the PS5, go to Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output > HDR. Set to 'On When Supported'. On the monitor, manually adjust saturation: Menu > Picture > Color > Saturation. Increase to 55-60.
HEADS UP The S36GD's HDR capability is basic (HDR10). Do not expect vibrant HDR performance. For standard content, the 'sRGB' Color Space setting will look more accurate but less saturated. This is normal.
