DIAGNOSIS Yes. The Deco X55 has no cooling fan and uses passive heat dissipation through its casing. Warmth is expected during operation.
FIX Ensure proper ventilation. Do not place units inside enclosed cabinets, on top of carpet, or under stacks of paper. Place them on a hard, flat surface. Leave at least 2 inches of clear space around all sides, especially the top and bottom vents.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If the unit is too hot to hold comfortably, it may be overloaded. Check the Deco app's Network Summary for total connected devices. An X55 unit can handle 150+ devices, but a sustained very high load increases heat. Consider adding another node to distribute load.
HEADS UP Heat is the main enemy of electronics lifespan. Avoid direct sunlight. Do not block the vents. The units will throttle performance automatically if they overheat, causing temporary slowdowns.
