trying to connect my puricare dehumidifier to the lg app but it won't find the device during setup.

Quick answer: The Wi-Fi setup process is finicky and often fails if you don't follow the exact sequence or if your phone's settings aren't right.

Diagnosis

The Wi-Fi setup process is finicky and often fails if you don't follow the exact sequence or if your phone's settings aren't right.

How to Fix It

1. On the dehumidifier, press and hold the Wi-Fi button for 3 seconds until the Wi-Fi light blinks rapidly. 2. On your phone, go to Wi-Fi settings and connect directly to the network named something like “LG_Dehumidifier_XXXX”. 3. Then open the LG ThinQ app to continue setup. Keep the phone close to the dehumidifier. 4. It will ask for your home Wi-Fi credentials. Make sure you're using a 2.4 GHz network—it will not connect to 5 GHz.

If That Didn't Work

Reset the dehumidifier's Wi-Fi module. Unplug the unit. Press and hold the Power button on the control panel for 10 seconds while it's still unplugged. Then plug it back in and try the setup sequence from the start.

Heads Up

If you change your home Wi-Fi password or get a new router, you'll have to go through this entire setup process again. The unit won't reconnect automatically.
