DIAGNOSIS This is usually a data transfer issue, not a mechanical one. The printer is waiting for the full print job to arrive over a slow or busy Wi-Fi connection, or your computer is sending it in a complex format.
FIX First, check your connection. 1) Print a network configuration page from the printer's control panel (Settings > Reports > Network Configuration). It should show a strong signal. If the signal is weak, consider moving the printer or router. 2) Try printing a simple text document from your computer. If that's fast, the slowness is coming from complex graphics or a "print as image" setting in your software. 3) For a quick test, connect your computer directly to the printer with a USB cable. If it prints instantly, you've confirmed the Wi-Fi is the bottleneck.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The printer might be set to a high-quality mode like "Best" or "Photo." Change the print quality to "Normal" or "Draft" in your print dialog box. This uses less data and prints much faster.
HEADS UP If you're printing over a VPN or a corporate network, that can add massive delays. Try disconnecting from the VPN or printing from a personal device on your home network to see if that's the culprit.
