Because the SmartThings Station acts as both a wireless charger and a hub, it manages multiple concurrent radio frequencies. During this pulsing phase, the hub's internal logic is prioritizing the restoration of the network stack over the execution of local automations. If the pulse is rhythmic (roughly one second on, one second off), the hub is actively attempting to pull your specific configuration profile from the cloud. Until this synchronization is 100% complete, the "Local Processing" engine is disabled, which is why your automations—even those designed to run without internet—are currently unresponsive.
How to Fix It
To resolve this state and restore your automation functionality, follow these precise steps to ensure the hub completes its recovery cycle without interruption:
- Isolate the Power Source: Ensure the Station is plugged directly into a wall outlet using the original Samsung 25W USB-C power adapter. Do not use a power strip or a third-party low-wattage brick, as insufficient amperage during the recovery phase can cause the hub to reboot in a loop, extending the pulsing blue light indefinitely.
- Verify Network Stability: Log into your router's admin panel and confirm that the SmartThings Station is assigned a valid IP address. If you have a "Smart Network Switch" or "Band Steering" enabled on your router, temporarily disable it to ensure the Station is locked onto the 2.4GHz band, which is more stable for the initial cloud handshake.
