Diagnosis: Signal interference or poor router placement is the most likely cause.

Fix: Relocate your router immediately. Checklist for optimal placement:

  • Place it in a centralized area of your home.
  • Keep it away from metal obstructions and direct sunlight.
  • Move it away from these interference sources: 802.11g or 20MHz-only Wi-Fi devices, 2.4GHz computer peripherals, Bluetooth devices, cordless phones, transformers, heavy-duty motors, fluorescent lights, microwave ovens, and refrigerators.
  • Orient the three antennas at 90-degree angles from each other.

If that didn't work: Update the firmware. Go to the ASUS website at http://www.asus.com to download and install the latest firmware version.

Heads up: The operating temperature range is 0°C to 40°C. Ensure the router is in a well-ventilated area and not overheating.
