asus rt-ax86u router won't turn on at all, no lights, nothing. what gives?

— asked by Jake

The power supply is the most likely cause. Use only the original AC adapter. Other adapters can damage the device.

  1. Check the wall outlet is working.
  2. Ensure the adapter's DC output cable is firmly plugged into the router's Power (DC-IN) port.
  3. Press the Power button firmly.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: The bundled adapter is rated for +19V with 2.37A current or +19.5V with 2.31A current. If you are using the correct adapter and it's plugged in, the router may be faulty.

HEADS UP: Operating temperature range is 0~40°C. If the unit is in a very hot or cold environment, it may not power on.
