DIAGNOSIS: This is almost always a safety interlock issue. The blender's lid isn't fully locked into the jar, or the jar isn't fully seated and locked onto the motor base, preventing power from engaging.
FIX: First, ensure the jar is properly aligned on the motor base—the arrow on the jar should line up with the unlock symbol on the base. Press down firmly and twist clockwise until it clicks into the locked position. Then, make sure the lid's tab is aligned with the jar's handle and pressed down fully before twisting to lock.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: Check your outlet with another device. If that's fine, the internal thermal fuse in the motor base may have blown from an overload. Unplug it, let it sit for 30 minutes to cool, then try again. If still dead, the base is likely faulty.
HEADS UP: Never force the jar onto the base if it won't align—misalignment can break the plastic locking tabs. Clean any food debris from the jar's bottom rim and the base's locking ring first.
