breville bambino plus making a loud pumping noise and no water comes out. is it broken?

— asked by Riley

Yeah, this one's common. The water tank is empty or not seated properly. The loud noise is the pump running dry.

First, pull out the water tank and fill it with water up to the MAX line. When you put it back, really push it down until it clicks and sits flush against the back of the machine. The buttons should light up once it's correctly attached and has enough water.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: If the tank is full and locked but you still get noise and no water, the machine might need descaling. Calcium buildup can block the flow. Run a descale cycle.

HEADS UP: If you hear a pulsing or pumping sound while water is flowing normally during a shot or steam, that's just the normal operation of the pump. No action needed.
