DIAGNOSIS The silicone sealing gasket (a small ring) where the brew basket locks into the machine is either missing, cracked, or has coffee grounds preventing a seal.
FIX Remove the brew basket. Look at the bottom of the basket stem and the hole it inserts into on the machine. There should be a soft, black silicone O-ring. Clean any coffee grounds off it and the seat. Ensure the ring is present and not torn. Re-seat the basket firmly with a slight twist until it clicks.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If the O-ring is damaged or missing, you need a replacement. You can find generic silicone O-rings at hardware stores; measure the diameter (roughly 1.5 inches) and thickness. Alternatively, contact Elite Gourmet for the specific part.
HEADS UP This leak is often caused by over-tightening the basket when locking it in place. You only need a firm, gentle twist. Cranking it hard can deform the seal or the plastic lugs.
