DIAGNOSIS The brew water temperature is too high. The DCC-3000's thermostat may be miscalibrated or stuck, overheating the water.
FIX There is no user-adjustable thermostat. First, ensure you are using the correct grind—medium coarse. A fine grind over-extracts. Use the correct amount of water for the coffee. The brewer is designed for a specific ratio. If the problem persists, the heating element thermostat is defective.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The thermal probe or the main control board regulating temperature is faulty. This requires professional service or board replacement. The part is the main control board assembly, which integrates the thermostat controls.
HEADS UP Do not attempt to adjust the thermostat yourself. It's a sealed, calibrated component. Incorrect temperature is a manufacturing defect if it's present from the first brew. Contact Cuisinart support.
