DIAGNOSIS The internal descaling reminder timer has been triggered. The brewer has counted a set number of brew cycles, usually around 200.
FIX This is a reminder, not an error. To reset it: Ensure the brewer is on and in standby (not brewing). Press and hold both the 'Clean' button and the '12 Cup' button simultaneously for 5 seconds. The red 'Clean' light will turn off. The cycle counter is now reset to zero.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The button sequence may not have registered. Unplug the brewer for one full hour. This sometimes clears the reminder by draining the backup capacitor that powers the memory. Plug it back in and try the button sequence again.
HEADS UP Do not ignore this light. While it's on, the internal scale buildup may already be affecting performance. Perform a physical descaling after resetting the light.
