my coffee on demand starts brewing by itself in the middle of the night, the programmable clock is a nightmare.

DIAGNOSIS The control panel touchpad is likely faulty. Spilled liquid or wear causes ghost touches, activating the 'Program' or 'Auto On' function.

FIX Unplug the brewer for 30 minutes. This resets the control board. Plug it back in. Immediately clear any existing program: Press and hold the 'Program' button for 5 seconds until the 'Auto On' light turns off. Wipe the entire control panel bone-dry with a lint-free cloth.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The membrane switch behind the control panel is damaged. This requires replacing the front control panel assembly, part # DCB-100. It's a sealed unit. You must disassemble the front housing to swap it.

HEADS UP If you unplug the brewer daily, you lose the clock. The problem is the control panel, not the power. Consider using a smart plug as a master switch if the panel replacement isn't feasible.
