Check for damage to the door seal from sharp items.
DIAGNOSIS: Load sharp knives and utensils with the handles up. Locate all sharp items so they are not likely to damage the door seal (the rubber gasket around the inside of the door).
FIX:
- Inspect the entire door seal for cuts, tears, or food debris.
- Clean the seal with a damp cloth.
- Ensure nothing is protruding from the lower rack that would hit the seal when the door closes.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: The latching mechanism itself may be faulty. Do not tamper with controls. All servicing should be referred to a qualified technician.
HEADS UP: Close supervision is necessary if this appliance is used by or near children. Do not allow children to play around the dishwasher when closing the door due to the possibility of small fingers being pinched.
