DIAGNOSIS A small piece of paper debris is caught in the paper path sensors or separation pad area. The sensors are triggered even by a tiny fragment.
FIX Open the rear cover (the one that folds down). Remove the toner and drum unit. Shine a light inside and look for shredded paper near the green separation pad assembly. Use tweezers to remove any debris. Clean the two small paper sensor actuators with compressed air.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The rear paper exit sensor (actuator) itself might be broken or stuck. Manually move the little white plastic flag to see if it springs back. A broken flag requires sensor replacement.
HEADS UP Never force paper out against the feed direction. You'll tear it and make the jam worse. Always follow the arrows printed inside the covers.
