DIAGNOSIS An IE error is a water inlet error. The dishwasher isn't filling with water, or it's filling too slowly.
FIX Check your kitchen's water supply valve under the sink. Ensure it's fully turned on. Next, inspect the dishwasher's inlet hose (usually a gray braided line) for kinks. Then, unscrew the inlet hose from the valve and check the small mesh filter screen for clogging—clean it thoroughly.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The water inlet valve on the dishwasher itself could be faulty or clogged with sediment. This requires accessing the valve (behind the lower access panel) to check or replace it. Also, very low household water pressure (below 20 psi) can trigger this.
HEADS UP Don't ignore this error. The machine will eventually time out and stop, leaving dirty dishes. If you've confirmed good water flow to the valve, the issue is internal and needs professional diagnosis.
