DIAGNOSIS Incomplete draining. Water is left in the sump, so the final rinse never happens with clean water.
FIX First, check and clean the filter assembly. A clogged filter is the top cause. Second, check your drain hose under the sink. Ensure it has a high loop and isn't kinked or pushed too far into the standpipe.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The drain pump itself may be failing. Listen for a humming sound when the drain portion of the cycle should run. No sound often means a bad pump or a clog in the pump housing.
HEADS UP Using powder or tablet detergent in a soft water area can cause over-sudsing that blocks proper draining. Switch to a low-suds formula.
