The Oil Alert system stopped the engine to prevent damage due to insufficient oil.
Action sequence:
- Do not attempt to restart.
- Check the engine oil level immediately. Add oil if it is below the safe limit.
- Also check around and underneath the engine for signs of an oil leak.
After adding oil: The engine switch can remain ON. Pull the starter grip to restart. The Oil Alert indicator should not come on if the oil level is now correct.
If the light persists with correct oil: A system malfunction is possible. Stop using the generator and contact a Honda servicing dealer for diagnosis. Continuing to run with a faulty Oil Alert system risks severe engine damage.
Pre-operation rule: Always check the engine oil level before each use. A low oil level is the primary cause of this shutdown.
