You've exceeded the 2.2 kVA load capacity or have a short circuit in a connected appliance.
Immediate fix: Disconnect all appliances from the generator's AC receptacles. The overload indicator (red) will stay on for about four seconds, then current shuts off and the green output indicator goes off. The engine will keep running. After disconnecting appliances, the system should auto-reset. The green output indicator should come back on once the overload condition is cleared.
If it won't reset:
- Check the AC circuit protector button near the 20A receptacles. If it popped to OFF, push it back to ON.
- If the overload indicator is blinking continuously, that indicates an inverter unit failure. Stop the engine and contact a Honda servicing dealer.
Prevention: Before reconnecting, add up the wattage of all appliances. Ensure the total does not exceed 2200 watts (2.2 kVA). Start the largest appliance first, then add others. For high electrical loads connected simultaneously, turn the Eco Throttle switch OFF to reduce voltage changes.
