how do i check the charge on my ryobi p215k1 drill battery? there's no display on the drill.

— asked by Megan

The charge indicator is on the battery itself, not the drill.

  • Remove the battery from the Ryobi P215K1 drill.
  • Locate the button on the battery housing. It is labeled with a battery icon.
  • Press and hold the button. A row of LED lights will illuminate.
  • Number of lit LEDs indicates charge level: 4 lights = 76-100%, 3 lights = 51-75%, 2 lights = 26-50%, 1 light = 0-25%.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: If no LEDs illuminate when you press the button, the battery is fully depleted or faulty. Place it on a compatible ONE+ charger. If the charger indicates a fault or doesn't charge, the battery needs replacement.

HEADS UP: This IntelliCell™ indicator is the simplest way to check charge and monitor work volume. Use it before starting a job to avoid mid-task shutdowns.
