DIAGNOSIS Packed sawdust obstructs cooling vents and can cause the motor to overheat and shut down. This requires a thorough clean-out.
FIX Unplug the saw. Use compressed air (a can or compressor) to blast debris out of the motor housing vents, the chain drive area, and around the bar mount. Focus on the rear exhaust vents.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK For stubborn packed debris, you may need to carefully use a small, soft brush (like a dry paintbrush) to loosen it before using the air.
HEADS UP Never use water or liquid cleaners. Do not insert tools into moving parts. Cleaning after each use prevents this buildup.
