how do i clean the fabric on my nest mini 2 without ruining it? it's getting dusty.

— asked by Taylor

DIAGNOSIS Dust accumulation on the polyester fabric cover is normal. Improper cleaning can push dust into the speaker or damage the material.

FIX Unplug the device. Use a clean, dry, soft-bristled brush (a new makeup brush or a soft electronics brush works perfectly). Gently brush the fabric in one direction to lift and remove dust. Use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment on a low setting to suck up the loosened dust.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK For stains or sticky spots, slightly dampen a microfiber cloth with water—never spray liquid directly on the speaker. Gently dab (do not rub) the affected area. Let it air dry completely before plugging back in.

HEADS UP Never submerge the device, use harsh chemicals, detergents, or compressed air directly onto the fabric, as this can force moisture and debris inside the speaker components.
