hue bridge keeps disconnecting from the internet, the second light goes out, and my automations stop working when i'm away.

DIAGNOSIS The bridge is losing its connection to your router or the Philips cloud. This is almost always a network hardware issue.

FIX

  • Unplug the bridge's power and ethernet cable for 30 seconds.
  • Plug the ethernet cable directly into a primary LAN port on your router (not a switch, extender, or powerline adapter).
  • Then plug in the power. Wait for all three blue lights to be solid.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Your router may be assigning a new IP address to the bridge. Log into your router's admin page and set a static/reserved IP for the Hue Bridge's MAC address (found on the bottom of the bridge).

HEADS UP If you have a mesh Wi-Fi system with a dedicated backhaul channel, ensure the node the bridge is plugged into has a strong, stable connection to the primary node.
