Restore all factory defaults via the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
- Open EWS. Find your printer's IP address from the network menu or HP Smart app. Enter that IP into a web browser on your computer. Use username 'admin'. The password is on the label inside the printer with the cartridge door open.
- Navigate to the System tab, click Service.
- In the Restore Defaults area, click the Restore defaults button. The printer will restart automatically.
This resets all settings, including network configurations. For a network-only reset, use the hardware method: press and hold the Information button for 3 seconds, then press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together.
Heads up: After the reset, the new owner will need to set up the Wi-Fi from scratch using the HP Smart app. Remove the printer from your HP Smart app account.
