how do you get the smell out of the ninja blender lid? it smells like garlic or onion and makes my smoothies taste weird.

Diagnosis

Odors are trapped in the silicone seal (gasket) inside the lid's center piece. This is the most common culprit for persistent smells.

How to Fix It

• Twist and pull the center measuring cup out of the main lid.
• Pop out the clear silicone gasket ring from the underside of that center piece.
• Wash the gasket, the center piece, and the main lid separately in hot, soapy water.
• For stubborn smells, soak the silicone gasket overnight in a mixture of warm water and baking soda or white vinegar.
• Let all parts air dry completely before reassembling.

If That Didn't Work

The odor may have migrated to the container itself. Fill the container halfway with warm water, add two tablespoons of baking soda, and run a 'Blend' cycle for 30 seconds. Rinse thoroughly.

Heads Up

To prevent this, always disassemble and wash the lid fully immediately after processing pungent ingredients like garlic, onions, or spicy peppers. Never just rinse it and assume it's clean for your next sweet blend.
