hp laserjet m234dwe says it's connected to wifi but my computer can't find it to print. what's the fix?

— asked by Maya

Diagnosis: A network configuration conflict or firewall block.

Fix: First, restore the printer's network settings to default and reconnect.

  1. On the printer control panel, press and hold the Information button for 3 seconds, then release. All buttons will light up.
  2. Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button together. The printer will restart and the Wireless button will blink blue, indicating it's in setup mode.
  3. Use the HP Smart app to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

If that didn't work, check these items:

  • Antivirus or firewall software on your computer may be blocking the connection. Use the HP online firewall troubleshooter.
  • Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor utility to diagnose and fix the issue automatically.
  • Ensure the router and printer are not too far apart.
