DIAGNOSIS: Type 2 (Moderate) on PlayStation means you're behind the router's firewall, which is normal. Getting a true Open NAT (Type 1) requires setting up port forwarding or, more reliably on this router, using the port forwarding rules within DumaOS.
FIX: Don't aim for Type 1—it's unsafe. Type 2 (Open) is the goal. 1) On your PS5, set up a static IP address or note its current one. 2) In DumaOS, go to 'Settings' > 'Port Forwarding'. 3) Add a new rule: TCP & UDP, Ports 1935, 3478-3480, and 3074. Forward them to your PlayStation's static IP. 4) Also, in the 'QoS' menu, make sure your console is listed as a 'Games Console' device—this prioritizes its traffic. 5) Reboot both the console and the router.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: Enable 'UPnP' (Settings > LAN Setup) if it's off. Then, fully shut down (not rest) your PlayStation, wait a minute, and boot it back up. This often forces a fresh connection that UPnP can handle automatically.
HEADS UP: If you have both a modem and this router (a double NAT situation), you may need to put the modem into bridge mode. Otherwise, you'll be fighting two firewalls, and port forwarding on the XR1000 won't be enough.
