Quick answer: The self-clean cycle requires specific conditions to run the full 30-60 seconds. Incorrect water volume or temperature will cause an early stop.

Diagnosis

The self-clean cycle requires specific conditions to run the full 30-60 seconds. Incorrect water volume or temperature will cause an early stop.

How to Fix It

Confirm the procedure. After blending, immediately add warm water (not cold) to the container until it covers the blades. Use about 16 oz (2 cups). Add one drop of dish soap. Secure the lid and the lid plug. Select the 'Self-Clean' program from the touchscreen menu. Press Start. The cycle will run for approximately 30 seconds. If it stops early, the water was likely too cold or the volume was too low.

If That Didn't Work

The container may not be fully seated and locked, causing the base to cancel the cycle. Stop. Ensure the container is turned fully clockwise until the handle aligns with the power button. Restart the Self-Clean program.

Heads Up

The Self-Clean cycle is for light cleaning only. For stubborn residues like nut butters or thick hummus, you must disassemble and hand-wash the container, lid, and lid plug.
