DIAGNOSIS Thick foods like lentils or dal can scorch on the bottom, triggering the induction base's overheat sensor.
FIX You must use enough liquid. For lentils, use at least 1.5 cups of water for every cup of lentils. Do not use the 'manual' high-pressure setting from cold. Use the 'PULSE' or specific bean/lentil setting if your model has it. Always add a tablespoon of oil. Never fill past the 2/3 mark for such foods.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Your sealing ring may be old and stiff, not allowing a proper pressure build-up. This causes the unit to heat longer, increasing scorch risk. Replace the silicone sealing ring.
HEADS UP The 'BURN' error is a safety feature. Always turn the unit off, let it cool, and open carefully. Scorched food must be soaked and scrubbed out before next use, or errors will persist.
