DIAGNOSIS The camera's 'Advanced Motion Detection' zones are probably too wide, or it's misinterpreting the size and shape of the car as a person.
FIX You need to fine-tune the motion zones. In the Ring app, go to Motion Settings and select Motion Zones. Draw zones that cover only your property (like your walkway and porch) and exclude the street. Also, under 'Smart Alerts', make sure 'People Only Mode' is enabled. This uses AI to try and filter out vehicles.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Lower the 'Motion Sensitivity' slider. A setting around the 4-6 range (out of 10) is often better for avoiding alerts from distant street movement. The 'Pro' model is more sensitive than older ones, so you might need to dial it back.
HEADS UP The 'People Only' filter isn't perfect, especially at the edges of its range or in poor light. It will still miss some people and occasionally flag a large, slow-moving vehicle. It's a balancing act between false alerts and missed events.
