Diagnosis
The issue stems from the Honeywell Home T4 Pro's factory default configuration. Out of the box, this device is set to a "5-2" or "5+1+1" scheduling mode. In this mode, the thermostat treats Monday through Friday as a single block; any change made to Tuesday will automatically overwrite Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. This creates the illusion that the device is "stuck" or refusing to accept independent weekday inputs. To confirm this is the root cause, enter the Schedule menu and observe the day labels. If you see "Mon-Fri" grouped together rather than individual days (Mon, Tue, Wed, etc.), the device is in the simplified mode. This is a common point of frustration because the menu structure does not explicitly tell you that the scheduling logic has changed until you dive into the advanced installer settings or the specific Schedule Type toggle.
How to Fix It
To unlock the ability to set unique temperatures and times for every single day of the week, you must manually switch the scheduling logic from the default to the 7-Day mode. Follow these exact steps:
- Press the MENU button on the main screen to enter the system options.
- Use the arrow keys to navigate through the menu until you reach SCHEDULE. Press the center select button.
- Navigate to SCHEDULE TYPE. You will likely see "5-2" or "5+1+1" currently highlighted.
- Use the arrow keys to change this selection to 7 DAY. Press the select button to confirm. This action reconfigures the internal logic to treat every day as a unique entity.
- Now, go back to the main SCHEDULE menu. You will now see individual days listed (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc.).
- Select the specific day you wish to program.
- For each period (Wake, Leave, Return, Sleep), use the arrows to adjust the START TIME first, then press select to move to the TEMPERATURE setting.
- Repeat this process for all seven days. Once finished, press DONE or MENU to return to the home screen.
If That Didn't Work
- Check for "Hold" Mode: If you have programmed the schedule but the thermostat isn't following it, look at the home screen. If it says "HOLD," the thermostat is ignoring your 7-day program. Press the RUN SCHEDULE button to resume the programmed sequence.
- Hard Reset the Interface: If the menu is lagging or not saving the "7 Day" selection, remove the thermostat faceplate from the wall bracket for 30 seconds. This power-cycles the logic board without erasing your primary installation settings, often clearing menu glitches.
- Verify Power Delivery: If the screen flickers or resets while you are deep in the Schedule menu, your C-wire may be loose. A voltage drop during menu navigation can cause the device to revert to default settings. Ensure the C-wire is securely fastened to the terminal block.
- Check for Conflicting Smart Features: If you have the T4 Pro integrated with a home automation hub, the hub may be pushing a "Simplified" schedule override. Disable any external app control temporarily while you set the local 7-day schedule.
Heads Up
- Battery Replacement: The T4 Pro uses batteries for backup/power; if you notice the screen dimming during programming, replace the AA batteries immediately. Low voltage can lead to corrupted schedule memory.
- Avoid "Permanent Hold": Be careful not to accidentally select "Permanent Hold" when adjusting the temperature on the fly, as this disables your 7-day program entirely until manually overridden.
- Time Sync: Always verify the current time and date in the SET UP menu before programming. If the date is wrong, your "Saturday" settings will trigger on the wrong day of the week.
