i replaced the ink cartridges but my mg3620 still says it's out of ink and won't print.

DIAGNOSIS The printer has not recognized the new cartridges. The chip on the cartridge is not making contact or the printer's memory needs a reset.

FIX Turn the printer on. Open the cartridge cover. Press and hold the Stop button for 5 seconds. The carriage will move. Remove and re-seat each cartridge firmly. You should feel a click. Close the cover. The printer will initialize the new cartridges.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK You may have installed cartridges with expired or faulty chips. Only use Canon CLI-281 (color) and PG-280 (black) cartridges. Remove them and check the expiration date on the box. Try another set.

HEADS UP Using non-Canon or refilled cartridges can cause this error permanently. The printer may disable the printhead. This is not repairable at home.
