Diagnosis
A consistent jam at that location points to the registration roller assembly—the pair of rollers that align the paper just before it hits the imaging unit. They're either dirty, worn, or the mechanism that engages them is stuck.
How to Fix It
Power off and unplug. Open the front cover and clear any stuck paper (pull firmly in the direction of paper path). Look up inside where the paper path bends—you'll see a black rubber roller. Clean it thoroughly with a lint-free cloth dampened with a little water (not alcohol). Manually rotate the gears you can see to turn the rollers and clean their whole circumference. Also, check the small metal separation pad opposite the roller for debris.
If That Didn't Work
The registration clutch, a small mechanical component that controls the timing of those rollers, might be failing. It's a known wear item. Replacing it (part RM2-8036-000) fixes intermittent jams that cleaning doesn't solve.
Heads Up
Always use paper that's fully within spec (especially for weight/ thickness) and fan the stack before loading. Slightly damp or static-clung paper is the most common cause of a sudden onset of these jams.
