Diagnosis
The motor is overheating due to excessive friction or a mechanical bind. This is often caused by overfilling or ingredients that are too thick and hard for the blades to move.
How to Fix It
For the Detect programs, let the unit cool for 30 minutes. On your next blend, use less volume. Do not exceed the MAX line for liquid recipes. For thick mixtures like nut butter or frozen fruit, use the PULSE function in short bursts, not a continuous program. Add more liquid to reduce viscosity.
If That Didn't Work
There may be a physical bind. Check the drive coupling and blade assembly as described in the grinding noise fix. A seized bearing in the blade assembly will cause immediate overload.
Heads Up
The overload protection is there to save the motor. Ignoring it and repeatedly triggering it can permanently degrade motor performance. Let it cool fully between error cycles.
