the 'auto-iq detect' feature doesn't seem to work, it just runs for a standard time and doesn't adjust

Quick answer: The load-sensing technology is not activating. This is usually because the program was not initiated correctly, or the pitcher is not properly seated.

Diagnosis

The load-sensing technology is not activating. This is usually because the program was not initiated correctly, or the pitcher is not properly seated.

How to Fix It

Ensure you are using a Detect program (Smoothie, Frozen Drink, etc.). Add ingredients to the pitcher and secure the lid. Press the program button ONCE firmly. Do not hold it. You should hear a distinct series of beeps as it performs the initial sensing spin. If you don't hear that, it's not in Detect mode.

If That Didn't Work

The torque sensor in the motor assembly may be faulty. This is a core function of the Detect system. If the initial sensing spin does not happen, the base needs service.

Heads Up

The Detect function measures resistance during the first few seconds. If you start with a completely solid frozen block, it may not sense correctly. Break up large frozen items slightly.
