it keeps turning itself off after running for an hour or so, no error code, just powers down

DIAGNOSIS Automatic shutoff without an error code is typically the built-in timer being activated or the unit overheating due to restricted airflow.

FIX First, cancel any active timer. Press the Timer button on the remote or control panel. The timer icon should disappear from the display. Set the unit to your desired mode again. Second, check for airflow restrictions. Ensure the exhaust hose is not kinked and the window vent kit is sealed but not blocking the hose outlet. Clean the air filter. Move the unit at least 20 inches away from walls and furniture.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The unit is likely overheating and its internal thermal protector is cutting power. This happens if the ambient room temperature exceeds 95°F or the condenser cannot exhaust heat. Feel the air coming out of the exhaust hose. It should be very hot. If it's only warm, the compressor may not be running efficiently, causing the unit to overwork and trip.

HEADS UP This model has an auto-restart function after a power interruption. If it shuts off and the display goes blank, it will attempt to resume its previous settings after 3 minutes if power is stable.
